Fly Free, Fly Safe — Bird-building collision prevention:
This is a project in cooperation with a group of high school students in Beijing, China, aiming to protect the birds from colliding into the tall buildings in urban areas.We will investigate the situation of bird deaths from crashing into tall buildings in downtown SD and the measures the property managements have taken to prevent bird crashing.Our partners in Beijing will conduct their investigations there.We’ll compare our findings and discuss the differences in people’s understanding of the issue and explore different measures of bird-building collisions prevention.Members who have special interests in this area will have the opportunity to do extended academic research based on our findings.

We Are the Beauticians — Clean up our campus and our community:
In order for us to live in a healthier, more comfortable, and graceful environment, we periodically volunteer to clean our campus, neighbourhoods and beaches. Activities include trash pickups, cleanses, disinfecting, etc.

Make a Voice — Videos, Posters & Articles:
Make an influence on our community and the whole society by making environment and health related videos, posters and writing articles. Members will avail ourselves of our talents in AI tech, painting, filmmaking and writing to raise people’s environment and health awareness.

Bottle Drive:
Collect plastic bottles and exchange for cash at recycling station. Money earned will be donated to the California Fire Foundation for fire fighting and prevention purposes.
